New Patients

Your First Visit to Long Island Back & Neck Care

Arriving at a new office with pain you have had for weeks is not the easiest thing to do. The first visit here is built around one question: what is causing this, and can we treat it?

You tell us what hurts, when it started and what you were doing when it did. Then comes an examination of posture, range of motion and the painful areas, and a straight answer about what we found before anyone adjusts anything.

  • A history of the problem and your health
  • A physical examination
  • A plain explanation of the findings
  • A treatment plan you agree to before care starts

Tell us what is going on

Call the office or request an appointment online. Mention if your pain follows a car accident, a fall or an injury at work, so we can allow the right amount of time.

History and examination

Plan to arrive a few minutes early for your health history paperwork. The examination follows, and it covers how you move as well as where it hurts.

Findings and a plan

You get the findings in plain language: what we can treat, what it will take, and anything that belongs with another provider. Treatment usually starts the same day.

What to Bring

A few things make the first visit go faster:

  • Photo ID and your insurance card
  • A list of your medications
  • Reports or discs from any X-rays or MRIs
  • Claim information after an accident
  • Comfortable clothing you can move in
  • The name of the doctor who referred you, if any

New Patient FAQs

How long does the first visit take?

Longer than a regular visit, because of the history, the examination and time to go through the findings with you. Later visits are much shorter.

Will I be treated on the first visit?

Usually yes, once the examination is done and we have explained what we found. If something needs imaging or a referral first, we tell you that instead.

Do you take my insurance?

Call the office with your plan details and we will go through what your coverage includes before your visit.

Do I need a referral to come in?

Most patients come in without one. If your plan requires a referral, bring it with you.

Book Your First Visit

We keep evening hours on Tuesday and Thursday and are open Saturday mornings, so treatment does not have to cost you a working day. Request an appointment online or give us a call.
